October 2007
Our Summer
activities concluded with games in the field and a prayer walk
down to Haye. A special thanks to those who planned the
Summer programme.
Some of us took
part in a Christians Together in Callington of games and a BBQ
in the field on a glorious Saturday afternoon, when we also
celebrated a joint birthday and wedding anniversary!
We are now
starting our lessons with a new set of challenging books for
both the Juniors and Text Club from an interdenominational
publishing group called Roots for Churches Limited entitled
'Roots - Children and Young People'
Our Celebration
Service on Sunday 23rd September was especially enjoyable with
the swimming and party invitation sketches, the kids band
playing and David Cole's special story about a boxer friend of
his. The buffet that followed raised just over £100 for
REGAIN supported by Jonathan Pellow who is taking part in a
400km wheelchair challenge along the banks of the Nile in Egypt
to the Valley of the Kings to raise funds to support paralysed
men and women.
Some of our
youngsters are taking part in the NCH Action for Children
"Splash Out" at Saltash Leisure Centre on Saturday 20th October.
One of our
members won first prize in the 12 - 18 years art class in the
Callington Show with a picture of his Grandma. He also
shared the Ron Deacon Cup for the most points in junior art.
