£500 was raised
from the recent Brotherhood Concert  for the BBC Radio Cornwall's Precious Lives Appeal.  Thank to all for their support.
NEW!Every Thursday morning between 9.30am and 11.30am we hold a Parent/Carer toddler group for babies and children under 5.

Just drop in for play and a chat.
Tea and coffee available.
All staff and helpers have been CRB checked.

The free 'Toddle-in' group for parents/carers with children from 0 - 5 years of age is up and running, but is still very much in its 'infancy' in all respects.  However it has been very encouraging having an average of between 6 - 10 children each week.   We are looking forward to increasing our numbers and welcome warmly any one who would like to call in.

Fair Trade

The Circuit meetings and Church Councils have agreed that the churches in our circuit should become Fair Trade churches.  This means that we use fairly traded tea, coffee etc at all out meetings, lunches, coffee mornings and other events.  You will see posters around the church  to remind and encourage us to do what we can to help.  Callington is trying to gain Fair Trade status, whereby a number of local shops, businesses, community groups and churches use Fair Trade products, which can be purchased at the Cornerstone shop in Fore Street and the Co-op in New Road.  Please do your bit to spread the word.

Each Friday morning there is a prayer meeting in the parlour at 10.00am with a short Communion Service at this time, on the the first Friday of each month.
Why not come along one Friday and join us?  The format is very relaxed, consisting usually of a Bible reading, leading to a brief discussion, followed by a time of open prayer.  You are as welcome to come and say nothing as to come and participate actively - so why not give it a try? Then stay for coffee, biscuits and a chat!

There are coffee mornings held at St Dominic (second Monday of each month), Stoke Climsland (first Wednesday of each month, but check venue locally) and Tamar Valley, (check dates locally).

The Tavistock and South Western Area  The headquarters of Operation Sunshine is at Folkestone, but there has been a branch in Tavistock for 23 years.
During the last three years, we have sent twelve ships containers to Africa, two of which were 40 feet long.  In the last year alone, Operation Sunshine has provided clothing, food, school furniture and educational and craft equipment, medical supplies, tools and building materials to the sick, poor and destitute in Northern Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Rwanda.
Those we have helped have included1.5 million refugees from the fighting in Rwanda and Burundi, the Liteta Leper Colony and Crisis Nursery in Zambia, the Canaan School for abused children and other orphanages caring for babies and small children who have been abandoned either through poverty or because they have been orphaned by the AIDS virus.  If you feel you would like to help or find out more please click on the link above to open their website.
