Junior
church MaY 2007
On Palm Sunday we watched an Easter video and
played games. On Easter Sunday we made chick cards and
took home a chocolate egg. We were pleased to welcome
visitors on that day, some were from Edinburgh down here on
holiday.
The Juniors have learned about Elisha the
prophet (2nd book of Kings chapter 4), exploring how God
provides through His power and about trusting God because he is
a powerful like-giver.
The Text Club have studied Jesus' early
years, including dedication to God at the temple.
April proved to be another busy month for our
young people with a canoeing expedition at Siblyback Reservoir,
and on the Tamar with Delaware Adventure Zone. Several of
our members have been involved in music exams and swimming.
Some took part in three performances of a show with 150
character dancing in the 'Ugly Bug Ball' at the The College of
Mark and St John in Plymouth. As it was recently St
Georges Day for some of our members, there was a parade at Mount
Edgcumbe Country Park with Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers,
Brownies, Guides and Rangers from around the Caradon area, with
a special Centenary cake and tree planting ceremony.
Our best wishes, thoughts and prayers go out
to those who will shortly begin their study leave before taking
their GCSE exams this Summer.
Thank you for everyone who supported the
Swimathon. Our team raised over £200 and completed the 5K
challenge (5,000 meters - 200 lengths) in 66 minutes 50 seconds
being placed 31st out of over 690 teams!
We are looking forward to our Junior Church
Anniversary services on 20th May when the morning service will
be led by Mr Steve Allen from Liskeard and the evening service
by Rev Doreen Sparey Delacassa.
